About:Guangzhou - Shenzhen - Hong Kong High Speed Train

Do we need to check in our luggage if we are using express train from Guangzhou to Hong Kong?

Which method is the cheapest and easiest:
1. Guangzhou to Hong Kong ( train)?
or
2. Guangzhou - Shenzhen - Hong Kong (train)?
