About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

I'm planning to go to china to travel around the country

I'm planning to travel around the country for at least over a month since me and my colleagues would like to visit many cities and tourist destinations, Unfortunately when after talking with the Embassy officer She said that as FIRST TIME traveler, I can only be given 14 DAYS {L}... I am a PHILIPPINE passport holder.

QUESTION:
Is it possible to extend it when i'm there?
Why do I get 14 days only when my friends get 3 to 6 months? Is this normal being 1st time traveler?

Please acknowledge
thanks

Yes, this is true for philippines to get 14 days as the first time visitor to China. But you are able to extend it after entry at local PSB where you stay.
