About:Marco Polo Memorial Museum

I met a girl online and I want to visit her in Shanghai

Do I need to book the hotel before applying for the visa?
Do I need an invitation letter from her?
Can I buy the plane ticket before getting it?

I'm actually in japan, and I have spanish nationality. It seems that you can apply here at travel agencies, but I don't have a letter from her. It would take a while, but I want to buy the ticket now while it's cheap.

Thank you for your quick reply. I've been to some travel agencies that have no idea of what to do, but one in tokyo near the chinese embassy actually does all those things... but it only opens while I'm working so I'll have to ask for half a day off to go :( unless someone here knows of a travel agency that opens on saturdays and can get me one...

Hi, you can simply apply for a tourist L with round-trip ticket and hotel bookings. Invitation letter is not required then. You are right that you should apply through a local travel agency.
