I think four days are so long that you may waste some time there and at most two days are enough for traveling only. In M, the Ruins of Saint Paul's, the Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, the Macau Museum, the Fort, the Fisherman Wharf, the Sands, the A-ma Temple, the Macau Tower, the Venetian and the City of Dreams are all worth seeing. The local public bus and the free shuttle buses among the hotels are the main transportation method when travel there.
For HK, I think 5 days are OK. The Gaint Buddha, the Ngong Ping 360, the Tung Chung, the Disneyland Resort, the Ocean Park, the Repulse Bay, the Victorial Bay, the Causeway Bay, the Peak & Central area, the Tsim Sha Tsui (the Temple Street, the Ladies Street and the Harbour City), Star of Avenue and the A Symphony of Lights at night are worth seeing.
In HK, the local mtr system can take you you to anywhere you want to go.
The ferry is the only method from M to HK.
These are all the information I know and hope it helps.
