About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Is it possible for EU citizen to visit Shanghai using the 72 hours rule and apply for visa at Shanghai local office?

I have that problem: I was late for my application and was wondering whether I can do that in Shanghai. I have a booked ticket for a return but it is beyond the 72 hours rule. Thanks

I am afraid that you can't. You may go to Hk first and then apply one there.
