on a short term assignmentwill stay in xiamen for 6 months

I'am coming to Xiament in Oct 2013 and will stay till March. woluld some one please guide me on how to servive there for this long duration....I am vegeterian by diet,will that be a problem? please guide on what are all important things to carry there.Thanks
