flight from HK to Toronto via Beijing - do I need to claim lugguge & check them in again at Beijing?

flight details: dep HK 07:45 - HK Airlines HX336; Arr BJ 10:35 then dep BJ 13:55 - Hainan Airlines HU7975 (time between flights : 3:20)
questions: 1) both arrival & departure at the same terminal 2? 2) In case flight delay from HK, not enough time to get to HU7975, how and where I can seek help? I should not need to pay extra for another flight to Toronto as the flight delay is not my fault, right?

1. Yes, the arrival and departure halls are both at T2.

2. If your flight delays, you can go to the counter of Hong Kong Airline to change another flight to BJ and then you will have enough time to catch HU7975. They will do this for you for free.

As for the luggage check-in things, if you hold the connecting bording pass, there is no need to pick up the lugagge and recheck it in at PEK.
