From Sydney to Taiwan transit in Beijing, is it applying 72 visa free policy?

Hello, I hold Australian passport. After 7 days tour in Taiwan I will fly back BJ and stay for another 1 month. And then I will fly back to Sydney. My question is how many entry do I need to apply for my china visa. In another word, the first landing in BJ transit to Taiwan is applying 72 hours policy?

Yes, if your first entry- stopover in BJ is less than 72 hours, you can benefit from the 72 hour free transit policy. You need to apply for a single entry tourist L for the one month stay when you back from Taiwan.
