About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

240-hour visa free transit for Indonesian passport holder, departing Sydney - Beijing

Hi,
Need some help here.
I'm an Indonesian passport holder, residing in Sydney.
My travel plan is Sydney - Beijing - Sydney.
Does my travel plan eligible for the 240hour Visa Free Transit policy?
Or do I have to add a 3rd country / region to exit China / Beijing to be eligible for that policy?

Thanks

Hendry, you have to introduce a third country or eligible territory (eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau) into your itinerary to make it eligible for 240 hour visa free transit. Your original itinerary is not eligible because it is not a transit, but just a return (round) trip. You can think about introducing, for example Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore or South Korea into your itinerary to make it eligible. For example:

Sydney - Seoul - Beijing - Sydney
Sydney - Beijing - Taipei - Sydney

Or something like this. It is essential to understand that the immediate points, before and after mainland China, have to be in two different countries or eligible territories. I hope you can build such an itinerary and avoid higher costs that sometimes follow it. In any case, I wish you a nice visit to China.
