About:China Transit Visa

transiting overnight through GUANGZHOU/CANTO airport

Hello, I will be flying from Brisbane (Australia) to London (UK) on October 21, and will be transiting overnight through GUANGZHOU/CANTO airport before my flight the next morning (total time in Guangzhou will be 16 hours). I have an Australian passport, and a valid visa to arrive in the UK.
Based on the new regulation from August 1 2013, do I therefore not need to apply for a transit G for China, but will be able to receive a free stay to allow us to leave the airport and spend a night in a hotel? I am trying to find out whether or not I need to apply for a transit G in advance. Thank you very much!

Hi, what you were informed is true. You can enjoy free entry for this transit via Guangzhou, and also you can get a free stay permit after arrival at the airport if you want to go out for a hotel.
