Visa Requirements as a result of new Chinese law

As a Canadian citizen and travelling to China as a stopover to a third country. Both on the way there and way back I will be stopping in Beijing for about 48 hours. Do I need a double entry or does the new law apply to me? I am sure it does but I want to make sure 100%

See my response to Ed (above).......you do not need one if you are in transit for up to 72 hours as long as you have pre-purchased international flight tickets to and from Beijing. I am still waiting for an official response from the Chinese Embassy in Vancouver. This information was obtained from the Canadian Government web site below.
