Flight layover en route to Canada - Visa required?

I am a Canadian citizen travelling with a Canadian passport. I will be flying home to Canada from Nepal in May 2014 with a 9hr layover in Beijing. Do I require a transit G to leave the airport and visit Beijing for those few hours? Thanks.
