About:Chinese Consulates in India

I will be flying to Hong Kong on tourist or excursion tour. I have no Chinese Visa on my passport.

If my family members insist to visit Shanghai or any other part of China in that case I can apply in Hong Kong and what are the formalities I have to furnish.

I heard some people said that many hotels in HK can apply mainland Chinese visas for their guests. You may ask the hotel if they can help you. If not, find any CTS branch to do it for you.
