Enxtending tourist visa in china

Hello, I am travelling on a tourist L and I would like to extend it. Do I need to leave the country? how many times can I renew it? I would like to stay there for +6 months.

Generally, the tourist L can be extended twice, but I heard that it is only once time allowed now. You have to leave before the extension expires and apply in your home country again. BTW, it is possible for you to apply in HK.

Do you mean that I can get a 30-day one outside of China, go to Beijing and stay there for a couple of weeks, go to HK to renew it and I will get 6 month Tourist L?

HEY! If you dont want to leaveto renew your L, you can extend ur for twice each for 30 days. OR you can go to Hk get a new one for 6 months.

Hi, you can get a 30 days L and apply for extension in Beijing PSB for another 30 days. It is possible to extend L twice. So, that will be 90 days in total. After that you have to exit mainland and apply in HK. I am not sure if you will get a 6 month L over there, but it is worth to try.
