About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

transit visa for China needed in Kunming Airport?

Hi, our flight from Hong Kong to Kathmandu takes us via Kunming, with a layover of 8 hrs during the night. Can we remain in transit area? Plse any helpful information is welcome. Tnx! S.

Yes, you can remain in the transit area at night, but I don't think it will be a good choice becuase the seats all have metal arms. So, you are suggested to check airport's website for the hourly lounges in advance if you need.
