Six months passport validity rule

Hi everyone. I will be visiting Hongkong for pleasure this May 24-27 but my Philippine passport will expire on September 2013. This means that my passport has only 4 months validity upon arrival. I'm aware of the six months passport validity rule to travel internationally. I'd like to ask if Hongkong and Macau are exempted with the six month passport validity rule. Also, will I be allowed to go to Hongkong and Macau? Thank you.

Theoretically, you are allowed to enter HK and Macao with a passport valid for less than 6 months. But you need to show your ticket for leaving as proof your passport is still valid when you leave HK/Macao.
