can i leave the baiyun airport without taking my luggage

I have a 7hr layover between flight from Australia to Paris. I would like to go to the gym during this time. So I have a few questions1. Where is the closest gym that allows casual use? (Evenings)2. if located in a hotel, Can I just leave the terminal? (What about luggage etc?)3. Do I need to get any sort of visa to leave airport as it is china?

If you just make a transfer, you are not allowed to get out of the airport.As far as I know, there is a gym in Pullman Airport Hotel which is about several minutes walking distance from the airport. But I am not very clear whether it can be used for people who do not live in. The other gym I know is a little bit far and the gym is called Total Fitness in 1/F,Yungang Hotel,No.282,Jichang Road. You can take the local subway line 3 to reach Jiahewanggang and then change to line 2 to reach Baiyun Park Station and then walk to reach there.If you want to leave the airport, you need a visa.
