72 hour transit visa for Australians

Hi, I hope you help me with this query. We are Australian passport holders flying from Bangkok to Shanghai for the Formula One Grand Prix there. Our stay is less than 72 hours and we have an onwards flight ticket back to Australia, can we apply for the 72 hour transit pass at Pudong Airport? If we can can you knidly advise me where we go to do that.
Thank you in advance

Yes, you can enjoy 72 hours free stay in Shanghai. There is a special channel for people like you. Just follow the signs, go through the checkpoint and the channel. Then you can enjoy the F1 Grand Prix.
