Extending F-Visa

I will have a business trip of 90 days in China, Dalian and want to apply for a F type one. How long are they currently issued? I heard you are given 30 days and can then extend, but my HR department said that one can only extend it once for 30 days.

Does anybody know how long the initial stay duration is and something about the extending policy? Or has somebody tips on how to achieve a stay duration of 90 days?

Normally, it takes four working days to process your application. Is there any chance that your company helps you gain one with multiple entries? Then you can just extend your stay by leaving mainland China (going to HK or Macau is ok). In order to get it, you need to provide invitations issued by an authorized unit, which request for 6 months or 12 month F-visas with multiple entries. Or you have multiple entry records into China within one year and having no illegal records in China.

I would need previous visa records for getting multiple entries.
