I'm afraid it has not reopened yet. Well, to see pandas, you can also go to Panda Breeding and Research Center in Cheng-du city.

Thanks for the reply! The Breeding and Research centre was where i was thinking of going to see the Pandas.
Does anyone know the answers to the following two questions:

1. What is the difference between Wolong and The Breeding and Research centre? (other than being one in the city and the other 3 hours drive from the city.)

2. Can you hold the Pandas at The Breeding and Research centre ? And if so, do you have to pay/ and how much?

Glad that I can help you out here.
1. As I know, pandas at Wolong Reserve grow up freely in nature and that at the Research Center are brought up by the breeders.

2. You can surely hold pandas at the Research Center and there is no need to bok that. It is a little expensive - about CNY1,000 for once per person.

June 2008 you were able to hold a panda at Chengdu, I think cost varies - we paid 160 usa dollars
