what are the criterias for double entry visa?

I am going to Beijing in May and then Guilin in August.  I was informed I cannot apply for a double entry visa. Instead I need to make two application.  Is that true? Please advise.

If you have tickets and tour itinerary to Beijing and Guilin, you can try to apply for a double entry from the visa office. A double entry can be valid for 6 months after issue date. But if you were informed by officers from the embassy, then you have to follow their request.
