tourist visa returned by mail?

Question

I am an American working in Salzburg, Austria on a 3 year assignment.  My wife and I would like to go on vacation.  I understand I need to go in person to the embassy in Vienna and it will take 4-5 days to process.  Is it possible for the embassy to then mail us to our address in Salzburg?  I am trying to understand if I would have to make only one trip to Vienna or if I would have to make 2 trips to Vienna...

Hi, Chinese embassy does not provide mail back service. If you can not go in person, you can entrust someone else or an agency to handle your application on your behalf from Vienna.

I will be driving to Vienna from Salzburg to drop off my tourist L application on Friday March 29.  Is it possible if I pay the one day expedite fee that I receive it on March 29?  I am only asking because I noticed the hours are from 8.30 to 11 on Friday.

I am afraid not, the embassy has suspended the express service for application from last July. The processing now takes at least 5 working days.
