About:China Tourist Visa

Visa extension within the Mainland

I am a British citizen on Visit visa and would like to extend it for another month or so.
1. Do I have to leave Shenzhen (where I am right now) to apply for the extension?
2. Do I need another invitation letter for the extension?

Hi, for L visa extension, you need to provide the Residence Registration Certificate in Shenzhen and fiancial support, as well as a written explanation why you need to apply for extension. Generally, invitation letter is required for F extension.

Hi Jerry, thanks. I appreciate it. What do you mean by Residence registration certificate. Is it provided by the invitee or the inviter? Finally where do I submit those documents? in Shenzhen or HK?

The residence registration is needed for foreigners within 24 hours after entry. If you stay in a hotel, the hotel did that when you checked in. So, ask them for the certificate. You can extend your visa in Shenzhen.
