About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Traveling with friend nd visiting friend.

I'm traveling with a friend to our first stop in Shanghai where the hotel reservation is under her name and not mine. Must the reservation have my name on it too in the email confirmation as acceptable for proof of hotel reservation? Also, I'm staying with friend in Hong Kong at end of trip. What do I need in place of hotel reservation?

Yes, you have to ask the hotel to add your name on in confirmation email foryour trip to Shanghai. If the friend you visit in HK has Hk ID card, they ask him/her to provide copies of his/her Hk passport Hong Kong identity card and a filled application form ID 1003B. Then you may be not required to provide the hotel reservation. Please contact HK Immigration Department by enquiry hotline at (852) 2824 6111 or by fax at (852) 2877 7711 for exact info.
