from wangfujing, how do we go to shanghai by train?

My family and I will be flying to Beijing this last week of December. From Wangfujing, how do we go to Shanghai by train. Is tre train station or terminal near Wangfujing? Where is the train station located? How much is the fee/fare to ride on the airconditioned train to Shanghai. How long will it take to reach Shanghai from Wangfujing? Is it safe to travel by train? Is it ok if we just want to have a day tour in Shanghai then go back to Peking? Can you recommend a 3-star or 4-star near the train station in Shanghai?

Well, near Wangfujing, you can go to the local Railway Station to take an airconditioned trainto Shanghai. 1. The train station is only about 3.5-4 km from Wangfujing, so you can take a taxi there very fast. 2. Airconditioned train for this journey costs CNY160-180 for a hard seat, CNY280-320 for a hard sleeper and around CNY500 for a soft sleeper. 3. From Wangfujing to Shanghai by airconditioned train, the whole journey takes about 15h. And it is safe enough to take the train. 4. It is ok to just have a one-day trip in Shanghai and then go back. Generally, for time saving and convenience, I suggest you go to Shanghai by bullet train or highspped train at the local South Railway Station. It only takes about 5.5h for your journey. And the train schedule and fare can be found in the website: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/You will arrive at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, near which the recommended hotels are Kim Ku Yuan Hotel and Argyle International Airport Hotel, which are both not far from the train station.
