Hello.I am currently in China on a F business visa.I have been accepted to study at Shanghai University in February 2013.I would like to leave the country (visit Vietnam, 2nd-15th February 2013) and enter the country as a student from Vietnam to start my study course.Thank you so much!

I don't think you can change your visa from F to X in Shanghai unless your university can offer help. If you succeed in the end, please apply for a residence permit at the local immigration office before you head for Vietnam. If you failed to make the change in Shanghai, you may apply for a X visa in Hk on your way back to mainland China from Vietnam.
