About:China Transit Visa

Can I leave the airport to stay at a hotel close to the airport with a 14 hour lay-over?

I am flying from Korea (where I reside with a working visa) to my home country of USA. I have a 14 hour lay-over now after a flight change in Beijing and have highly considered finding a hotel close to the airport to stay. I assume I need a visa to exit the airport. Is this a regular visa or is there a visa I can get for just this transition from airport to hotel in Beijing?

You need to apply for a China transit visa in advance if you plan to go out of the airport to stay in a hotel.
