canamerican with a us passport travelling in autralia get a china toursit visa?

Question

I am an American visiting Australia, arriving in Brisbane on the 8th of Nov and departing on the 13th from Brisbane. Due to the hurricane in US there is not time for me to send the VISA app to NYC and be sure it comes back on time. All transit and deliveries are shut for next two to three days. If I come to consular office on either afternoon of the 8th or morning of the 9th, can I get it expedited, or come back on 13th during the day?  I have my flights in and out of Hong Kong, and hotel booked for one night in Jiangmen City. I would travel by ferry to Juhai and be driven to Jiangmen City. What are my options, as I have booked flights already and leave US for New Zealand on Saturday.Thanks, Phil Berman

Hi Phillip, visa can be obtained on the second or third business day under express service, and it should be approved by the officer when you submit your application. So, it can not be got on the same day. If you can not go in person for application, you can entrust others to handle this on your behalf. BTW, if you will visit HK first then mainland, you can also apply for a China visa in HK.
