Travel from Toronto to Hong Kong and transit at Beijing Airport

I am holding a Canadian passport and I plan to travel from Toronto to Hong Kong and transit at Beijing Airport for about 5 hrs. and I will stay at the airport until the flight to Hong Kong. And I travel back from Hong Kong to Toronto and transit at Beijing Airport for about 4 hrs. Do I need to apply a visa or a double entry?

Visa is not required if you will not leave the airport.
