BEIJING INFORMATION

1. How would I get the the Forbidden City Hotel from the Beijing train staion? 2. From the Forbidden City hotel what do I need to take to get to the Bird's Nest? 3. From the Forbidden City Hotel how do I get to the Badaling Great Wall? 4. What is the cost? 5. How much time does it take to get there? 6. The Badaling Grest Wall is it open in December? 7. Directions to get to Tianamen Square from the Bird's Nest? 8. Time? 9. Cost?

It is not far from the train station to the hotel. Taxi is a nice option.
From the hotel to the Bird's Nest, you can go to Tian'anmen East to take subway line 1 and transfer to subway line 5 at Dongdan. Then get off at Huixinxijienankou and take subway line 10 to Beitucheng. Then switch to Subway Line 8 (Olympic Special Line): get off at Olympic Sports Center Station, get out of the station from Exit B1 (northwest exit) or Exit B2 (northeast exit), and walk north to Bird's Nest. It sounds complex, but do not worry. All the transfers are just inside the subway station. You have no need to get out of the station. It is very easy. Vice versa.
From the hotel to Dadaling Great Wall, you can take bus No. 5 at Tiananmen Square East or Tiananmen West, get off at Deshengmen and then take Bus No. 877, 919 or 880. It may takes about 2~2.5 hours in total. The cost is around CNY15. Badaling Great Wall is open in December.
