About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

Hanoi, Vietnam - Nanning, China.

Hello!

I planned mototrip on Suth-Eastern Asia. There is some problem to enter China on your own motorbike.

1. Can I cross the board by train from Hanoi, Vietnam to Nanning, China?
2. Can I take motorbike into the train or I must send it separately by cargo-train?
3. What do I need to check-in the motorbike into the train?
4. Can I use CARNET ATA in China border?
5. Can I apply for visa and motorbike papers in China Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam?

Yes, you can go to Nanning from hanoi by train, but you need to check your motorbike by a cargo coach on the same train. If you plan to ride your motorbike in China, a visa notification form issued by China National Tourism Administration or the tourism administration of Guangxi province is required, and to check in the train as well. The embassy can not issue this for you. BTW, I don't think they accept CARNET ATA.
