About:China Visa

I am a Permanent resident of Canada visiting the Philippines. Do I need a transit visa?

I am using different airlines to save a few hundreds. The thing is, the 1st airline will arrive in Shanghai Airport 1645 on the 28th and I will board the 2nd airline to the philippines the next day at 1655. Hence, the total layover time of 24 hrs and 10 minutes. Do i need to apply for a transit visa??
Please site a reference page I can show immigration if they ask. Thanks.

I think you will have to go out of the airport to rest in a hotel during the transit, so you'd better get a transit visa in hand in advance.
