Beijing in holidays

We plan to stay in Beijing for 4 or 5 days included two public holyday days: 30/09 (mid-Autumn) and 01/10 (National Day) this year. We know that it may be very crowded during these days in Beijing and we ask your help in planning our stay in Bejing.
1. Are there sights in Beijing which are not overcrowded in these holyday days (may be parks or bazars etc.)? Are the Beijing sights opened as usual during the public holydays?
2. What is the situation with the public transport in Beijing in these days? What may be the best accommodation location to avoid the transport problems during the holyday days?
3. Are the 2-3 days before holydays overcrowded as well or they are usual days?
Thank you for your help

To tell the truth, most of the scnic spots may be crowded during the public hoilidays. After all, Beijing has so many attactive spots. If I have to give you a choice, I suggest the Mangshan National Forest Park because it is located at the suburb. Or you can go to some farmers' house to enjoy the Chinese suburb life at Fangshan District. During the public holidays, most of the attractions open as usual, and some may extend the opening duration about 30 min longer.

The transportation at that time may be very crowded. Subway is suggested because it is faster and frequently scheduled. As I said above, you may find everything goes much more easier and convenient in suburb.

Actually, two to three days before the holiday, it starts to be crowded, but neither as usual nor the holiday time.
