About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

Can a U.S. citizen apply for a visa at the Chinese Consulate in Toronto?

We are travelling to Beijing from Toronto but live in the U.S. Can a person in our traveling party take our passports (with the relevant visa documents) in person and have the Chinese TOURIST visa stamped on the U.S. passport? Our U.S. Chinese Embassy/Consulate is not within traveling distance from where we live and it will be convenient since our fellow traveler can carry our passports when he takes his own passport for a visa. Many thanks!

Applying visa in Toronto requires resident permit in Canada, so I am afradi that you cannot do that way. You need to apply at the embassy/consulate at your residing place.
