About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

Days needed to process work visa, who can be authorized representative if unable to be here personaly

Hi and thanks in advance for this opportunity to post questions here. I just have a couple of questions that I hope can be answered about work visa for China:

1. How many days will it take to process a work visa?

2. Is there still a chance of denial from the officers here at the Chinese embassy even with valid invitation letter and work permit from China sent by the employer? On what grounds?

3. If I am unable to be here personally, will this be detrimental to my application?

4. What kind of authorized representative is allowed if I cannot be here personally to submit the requirements? In the absence of a company ID, will an authorization letter suffice?
(are travel agencies or family members allowed to represent the applicant?)

5. Where do I need to do the health check- here in Manila or in China? Where can I get a list of the accredited hospitals/ health centers and what kind of tests should I do (it says we can get information at the visa counter but wondering if I could get information online here)

Many thanks in advance and kind regards

1. Usually, it takes 4 working days from the day you submit the application.
2. It's hard to say, since all is in the hands of the visa officers who have the right to reject any visa application without giving any explanation or reason.
3. China Embassy in Philippines does accept visa application by a representative, so it won't be the reason for your visa rejection.
4. You can entrust any body you trust to apply for the visa on your behalf, including a travel agent or a family member. On the offcial website of the embassy, it stated that both the authorization letter and company ID are necessary for the representative.
5. You have to do the medical check at an appointed hospital both in Manila and when you are in China. The first one is for the visa, and the secodn one is for the Chinese residence permit. The authorized hospitals in Philipppines are Makati Medical Center and Chinese General Hospital.

Hi, Maria,

Glad to have the chance to answer your question.

1.The regular processing time is 4 working days. For express service, additional fees of 1700 peso/per for next-working-day releasing, or 1100 peso/per for third-working-day releasing will be charged.

2. Yes, there are possiblities of refual. You know, now the issues between the two countries are in tense, so the visa policy is tight than usual;

3. If you cannot come in person, you can entrust someone or a travel agency to apply for you. This would not effect your application. If the official requires an interview, you must come in person this time.

4. Yes, travel agencies or family members allowed to represent the applicant and act as representative. Both an authorization letter and a company ID are needed.

5. You need to do the medical check in Manila first. I am not quite sure about the accredited hospitals/ health centers or tests needed to do, so you had better enquire at the visa counter to get exact answers.
To remind you, within 30 days of your entering China with Z visa, you need to do medical check in China again. The hospital will be designated by the PSB

Good luck!

Here is the form required: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/pdf/physical.pdf. Just finish the examination as what listed in the form at the accredited hospital.
BTW, you can do this later after you receive documents for Z visa application from China.
