Can you please tell me what is the optimum date to apply for our Visas?

Our family is traveling to Beijing/Xian/Hong Kong from Sept. 7 - Sept. 16th 2012. Can you please tell me
what is the optimum date to apply for our Visas.

A single entry China visa has validity of 3 months, so, you can apply for China visas in late July or early August.
