About:China Embassy in Thailand

I am a Canadian living in Bangkok applying for a working visa in China.

I am a Canadian living in Bangkok applying for a working visa in China. My new job has sent me two letters of invitation approved by the Chinese gov. What else do I need to bring? What is the fee for getting a work visa? How long does it take to process?

Do I bring a medical check? Proof I'm currently living in Thailand?
Help please-- I'm going tomorrow.

1. You still need the following documents:
(1) The original medical certificate issued by a state-run medical organization and the corresponding photocopy;
(2) The original passport with a validity of more than six months and enough blank visa pages;
(3) One copy of completed visa application form in Chinese or English, attached with one of your recent colorful front pictures of upper body (30mm X 40mm);You need to fill two application form: V2011A and V2011B, so you also need two photos.
(4) Proof of residency in Bangkok
(5) You should also ask your employee to prepare the "Employment Permit for Foreigners in the People's Republic of China" issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China for you .

2. The fee is 1100 Thai Baht;

3. Four working days are needed for regular visa application processing. A surcharge of 1200 Baht or 800 Baht shall apply for Rush (same day) or Express (second or third working day) services respectively.

What do you mean by a "he original medical certificate issued by a state-run medical organization and the corresponding photocopy;"?
I had a check up done by a doctor in Bangkok and she filled out all the paper work and forms. Is that correct?

"he original medical certificate issued by a state-run medical organization and the corresponding photocopy;"?

--> The meaning is that the physical exam should be done at a state-owned hospital.

So if I've had one done at a clinic that wouldn't count. Even if its done by a licensed practitioner?? I've already spend money having all the tests done.

You may confirm this with the consular office of the China Emabssy in Thailand. They have to final say to this anyway.
