can i apply for a chinese visa in canada without a return air ticket from canada to china?

I live in Cagary, Alberta. I hold a Hong Kong Passport but do not have a Hong Kong  entry-exit permit. I plan to go to Hong Kong in June to join my relatives there for a trip in China. Can I apply for a chinese visa here in calgary without a return ticket from Canada to China?

No return air ticket from from Canada to China will be required, you should apply for a Home-Visiting certificate for your trip to mainland China through China Travel Service Hk Limited when you go back to Hk.
