Visiting Shanghai on tourist visa and then returning in transit 5 days later

Can anyone help. I am a British Citizen who will be travelling to Shanghai on a tourist visa, 4 days later i will travel to Hong Kong. I will stay there for 5 days and the return though Shaghai airport for three hours only in transit. I have a flight booked to Abu Dhabi where i am a resident. Does anyone know if i can return through transit in this way?

You don't need any visa for your 3-hour transit in Shanghai on the way back to Abu Dhabi.
