About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

I have friends to stay with in Shanghai and would like a 12 month multi entry visa.

I am a US citizen with a Korean ARC and a former resident of China. Can I get a 12 month multi entry visa? How long in advance must I apply for this? Must flight tickets (ie specific dates of travel) purchased prior to visa application?

You can try to apply for a 12 months multiple entry visa, please show the document to prove you are a former resident of China. You can apply for visa 1 or 2 months before the trip to China. You should book flight tickets prior to visa application, after you obtain the visa, you can pay full payment to purchase the ticket.
