About:China Work Visa

Does anyone out there know what the answer is to 'what age can an expat work until in Shanghai?'

I am a 64 year old teacher who will turn 65 this June which is just at the end of the first year of my contract. I cannot get information from anyone as to what the answer to my question actually is. All answers vary from it being impossible to probable. Even my employers do not know. I would appreciate it so much if anyone knows what the answer is or who I can contact.

You may get an exact answer from the local foreign affairs office or the Shanghai Municipal Human Resources & Social Security Bureau. The legal retirement age in China is 60 for male, 50 for female and 55 for female cadres. But not sure about the rule for foreigners in China.
