If you are not under emergency or special conditions, it's impossible for you to get an on-aarival visa at Guangzhou. I strongly advise you apply for a China visa from the Chinese Emabssy or Consulate in your country in advance.
The documents to be prepared are: a appropriately and authentically filled visa application form affixed with a passport photo, your original passport with at least 6 months validity and 2 blank pages, covering letter from applicant's company or employer addressed to the visa office, round-way air tickets and proof of travel expenses.
