May I know which country's passport are you holding now, US or Egypt?
Generally, you need to provide the following documents to apply for a China L Tourist visa:
1. Your original passport with at least 2 blank pages and 6 months validity left;
2. A authentically filled visa application form affixed with a recent-taken passport-size photo;
3. Hotel booking in China and round-way air ticket.

If you are holding US passport , you will also have to provide your residence permit in Egypt, supplementary China visa application V2011 B and other documents.
