Transit Visa for stop over in Guangzhou Airport

Hello,

I live in Australia and am organising a trip to Hong Kong. I know you don't need a visa to enter Hong Kong however I am stopping over in Guangzhou Airport for a few hours before departing to Hong Kong. I won't be leaving the airport and would only need to collect my bag and check in for the flight to Hong Kong. Do I need a Transit Visa for this stop over?
