Tourist visa for an Indonesian living in Vietnam

I'm an Indonesian working (temporary resident) in Vietnam. I'm planning to travel to China by the end of this year, and I will depart to China from Kuala Lumpur. Should I apply the tourist visa from Vietnam or from Kuala Lumpur? How long does it take and what documents should I prepare?

Thank you.

You should apply China tourist visa from Vietnam because you work in Vietnam and can provide the Vietnam Residence Permit. It takes one week. Please prepare the following documents:
1. Your Indonesia passport and photocopies of its data pages
2. one passport photo
3. fill in visa application form V.2011A and V.2011B
4. the Vietnam residence permit and its copy
5. the round-trip air tickets
