About:Chinese Embassy in Chile

Visa issuance to Americans

Has anyone gotten this embassy to issue a tourist "L" visa for an American in Chile on a tourist visa? They are stating they only issue for residents or people with residency visas. Can't even get past the first lady at the gate. Brazil (in Chile) had no issues.

I'm afraid that you can't get a China L visa in Chile because you are in Chile on a tourist visa, why don't you apply for China visa in USA and then go to Chile? If the application is denied in Chile, you can go to Hong Kong to apply for a China visa.
