About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

Go to China with a 30 day visa, and a return ticket 57 days after (intend to extend it upon arrival)

ATTENTION:David, if i may ALSO ask. I had already booked my ticket for 57 days and have NOT got a visa yet (too early).
Is it okay to grab, just the standard tourist visa (30 days) and when i get to Nanning go within 24 hours to Public Security Bureau in Nanning with wife and documents and apply for the 6 month family visa then?
My only worry is when i get to customs they will see my plane ticket as 57 days and visa as 30 so do i tell them that i intend to extend it in Nanning as visiting my wife for 2 months and applying for family visit visa.
Your thoughts David?
thanks,
Robbie

There is little chance the customs officer will check your return ticket. They only check your visa. Nobody cares when you'll go back to your country.
Oh, they may check the return ticket of the citizens from the poor countries, just to avoid overstaying.
