If you have been China and there is a Chinese visa sticker on your passport, it is possible for you to get a 5 days visa on arrival at the Shenzhen border, but you can only visit Shenzhen for 5 days at most. You can't go to other parts of China.

Hi Mitchell.
Were you turned away at the border?

There is so much conflicting info, not sure if we should give it a try. We are also SA passport holders.

Hi. We went just this morning and we're turned away at the border. Apparently south Africans need to apply at the hong kong consulate on harbour road for a china visa before going to shenzen
