Can I travel on a visa which is Valid in my Old passport?

I have a multiple business visa for 6 months for China- expiring in November-11. My this passport with Valid china visa had no page to stamp. So in India- they put a stamp on old passport first page- Cancelled and Returned. And then issue a fresh new passport with different number.

Will I be able to travel in October to Gulin-Shanghai-Guangzhou for business cum leisure trip? Whether Immigration at China Airport consider this visa in Old passport as valid?
