Is it necessary to get a polio vaccination to Xinjiang right now?  I did see it as being recommended in the CDC web site.

Not necesarry to get a polio vaccination, in fact. Take Urumqi for example, the average low temperature by the end of October would be 0-1 degree, average high at 10 degrees. It is windy there and you should pack wind-proof warm coat.
